How does it work?

The main deodorizing ingredients in our tallow deodorant are magnesium hydroxide, baking soda, and arrowroot. Magnesium hydroxide and baking soda neutralize the odor-causing bacteria and make the skin more alkaline. The arrowroot absorbs moisture, keeping you drier and reducing odor.

For those worried about baking soda sensitivities, this deodorant is less likely to trigger a baking soda rash due to the use of the magnesium hydroxide (which is much gentler than baking soda) and arrowroot as deodorizers. This means that there is much less baking soda in our formula than in a typical baking soda deodorant.

Why Tallow?

Beef tallow's fatty-acid profile is unusually close to the fatty-acid profile of human skin - closer than any plant oil. This means that it can penetrate our lipid barrier and deliver the powerhouse of nutrients that it contains: Vitamin A (in retinoid form), Vitamin D, Vitamin E (as alpha-tocopherol), and vitamin K2. Tallow from grass-fed cows has been shown to be consistently higher in these vitamins than tallow from grain-fed cows. Our beef tallow is 100% grass-fed and finished, and comes from small family farms without being bleached or deodorized.

Why beeswax?

Organic beeswax has many proven benefits to the human body and skin. Not only is beeswax noncomedogenic (it won't clog pores), but it is rich in Vitamin A and aids in rehydrating and repairing the skin. It also acts as a protective agent, locking in your skin's natural moisture.
